Priti Chakravarty received her initial training in vocal music in Bhagalpur, Bihar and advanced training from Pandit Vinayakrao Patwardhan, a well-known exponent of the Gwalior Gharana. Mrs. Chakravarty has extensive experience in teaching music and curriculum development. She served as the head of the department of music in a four-year college in Bihar and as the chairperson of the curriculum committee for a model music university. She was also a member of the board of examiners in various universities in the state of Bihar, India.
